The objectives of the course is test the candidates' :

 

  • Understanding of Accounting Information deriving from all sources - manual, mechanical and electronic.

  • Ability to prepare Accounting statements and data in accordance with basic accounting conventions and current accounting practice.

  • Ability to use, appreciates and analytically interprets accounting statements and data.

 

Course Outline

Accounting Level 3

 

  • Understand the basic principles underlying the recording of business transactions.

  • Prepare and interpret accounts for sole traders, partnerships, non-trading organizations, limited companies and groups of companies in accordance with basic accounting conventions and current accounting practice.

  • Prepare accounting statements and data in accordance with basic accounting conventions and international accounting practice.

  • Use and interpret accounting statements and data.

 

Cost Accounting Level 3

 

  • Advanced aspects of the processing of cost accounting information including stock control

  • How cost accounting information can be used for the purpose of short-term planning, control and decision-making within business organizations

  • Application in a variety of business settings

 

Management Accounting Level 3

 

  • Critically analyse information for short-term and long-term decision-making

  • Use management accounting information for planning and control of cash and other resources within a business organization

  • Understand business performance measures.

 

Business Statistics Level 3

 

  • Knowledge and understanding of more advanced statistical techniques

  • Apply this knowledge and understanding in solving business problems
