Course Overview
Introduction
This programme develops students to be
competent accounts assistants for employment
in the industrial, commercial, service and
public sectors. Applicable to those who wish
to upgrade their existing skills.
Entry Requirements
To apply for the Higher Nitec in Accounting
course, you need to have at least 3 GCE 'O'
level Grades:
- English Language (Grades 1 – 7)
- Mathematics/Elementary/Additional(Grade 1-7) or Principles of Accounts(Grades 1 – 7)
- Or a pass in any subject of Nitec level
- Or Entrance test conducted by ITE
For ITE graduates, you must have obtained at least a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.8 for your Nitec in Service Skills qualifications.

Progression Opportunities
Higher Nitec in Accounting graduates may take up a related diploma course at the polytechnics if they meet the admission criteria. Based on respective polytechnics’ criteria, COM holders may apply for direct entry to the 2nd year of training for selected courses. After the polytechnic diploma, graduates may progress to pursue a degree course at the University.
Career Prospects
As a Higher Nitec in Accounting graduate, you may be employed by government departments, statutory boards and private sector companies.
